The “MVP’s” of development: An abbreviated developmental tracker for parents and caregivers
What This Is and Why It Matters:
This printable tool is designed to help parents and caregivers track developmental milestones during a child’s pre-k years. This tracker supports the protective factor of Knowledge of Child Development, which is the understanding of what children need to grow, learn, and thrive and when to encourage that skill. Knowing what your child should be capable of allows your child to develop and learn the skills necessary for kindergarten by creating the right environment and experiences. For example, if a child is expected to cut a shape following the boundary prior to kindergarten, but they’ve never been exposed to a scissors, the skill simply doesn’t have the opportunity to build and be mastered.
